Dry needling, which uses acupuncture needles to relieve muscle aches and pains targeting trigger points in the muscle. This can be very helpful for those stubborn areas of muscle spasm or pain which radiates down a limb. E.g. Sciatica
Kinesiology taping: Dr Piper uses this very effective taping in treating common muscle and joint injuries including muscle strains, sprains and tendonitis e.g. tennis elbow or plantar fasciitis plus many other similar conditions. It provides support and pain relieve during recovery and it can also prevent further injury by assisting movement and stability.
Instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation. IASTM (Grastin)
IASTM instruments are used to mobilizing scar tissue and myofascial adhesions. Its usually done by applying a stroking force with a specific instrument in a specific direction. Improves mobility and helps the body to relay tissue that’s been damaged or tight. Used on a variety of conditions e.g. tennis elbow or fascial foot pain and much more.
Afferent Input technique, this focuses on non-traumatic muscle imbalances and balances the muscle system using specific spinal adjustments.
McKenzie technique for low back care. These are forms of exercises and protocols to follow when rehabbing a low back condition.
Pilates Instructor Dr Piper is also qualified as a Pilates instructor.
